I was in town working a convention until after midnight. I live just over an hour away from the motel. I booked it as I needed to be back at work early the next morning. I just planned to get a few hours of sleep and go back to work. Upon my arrival the office was closed and could not check in so I drove home slept for 4 hours and drove back to work. Never used a place that didn’t have 24 hour check in.

This weekend stay was a birthday-getaway/spiritual sabbatical. It was intended to be spartan and bare-bones; and with this price-point, I figured that is what it would be. And I was right. This was an early March stay, and even though the room had heat, the bathroom window was one of those louvered Jalousie windows, and the adjuster knob didn't work, and the window was slightly ajar, allowing more cold air to come in. The bathroom door had to be kept shut, and when you had to go in there, it was like doing your business outside in 40 degrees. Also at this price-point you get a wide variety of guests, so on my 2nd night, it was kind of noisy. So if you're seeking peace and quiet, this is not your place. If it doesn't matter, have at it. The room was fairly clean, but dated, and maintenance is needed. The bed was firm and comfortable. Interesting was that you would think the electrical switch right inside the door would be for a light. No. It was for the microwave. I don't know if every room is that way. There's only about 40 TV stations available. It seems like every hotel I stay in has low wattage bulbs in their lamps, and is nearly impossible to read by. Though dangerous, bring a bright bulb with you if you want to read. Which reminds me. There was no Gideon Bible in my room. Glad I brought my own. Stay here if you just need a place to sleep and keep your stuff. They still have free parking, and there is a spot for every room- which is rare.
