Surrounded by picturesque half-timber buildings, this hotel lies in the heart of the historic town center of Gengenbach. All classic-style rooms at Hotel Restaurant Sonne feature TV, desk, free WiFi and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Rooms are divided between the main hotel building and 2 guest houses. Some rooms can be reached by elevator. A Black Forest-style breakfast buffet is available each morning in the bright breakfast room. Fine regional Baden cuisine and specialties of the season are served with wine from the Ortenau in the Restaurant Sonne. Hotel Sonne is an ideal base for hiking and cycling through the Black Forest. Day trips to the Alsace region are also recommended. Covered parking spaces are available for a fee. Gengenbach Train Station is a 5-minute walk from the property. Hotel Restaurant Sonne provides a free shuttle service to and from the station.

Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If guests expect to arrive on a Wednesday or Thursday please contact the property in advance to arrange check-in, because the reception is only staffed at limited times. In case the reception is not staffed on your arrival you can check in using the key safe and a pin code. Please note that extra beds are only possible in the Deluxe Double Room. Extra beds are only available upon request and are subject to confirmation by the property.
